UGAHacks 5 was stressful for many reasons, both foreseen and not. For me, it was perhaps the most stressful 3 days of my college career, but, in hindsight, I can only remember good things about it. If I ask myself what my favorite memory was, it would honestly have to be the “prank” that my team pulled on me during the closing ceremony.

I pride myself on doing my best to stay on top of things. In my mind, a perfect event is one where I know exactly what is happening during any given time with no surprises or sudden changes. So, you can imagine my surprise when a dozen balloons and the slide deck I prepared are wishing me happy birthday. It was equal parts embarrassing, surprising, and heartwarming. It was a stressful weekend, and such a genuine surprise was the best way for it to all end for me. Getting wished happy birthday more than 2 months away from my actual birthday.

Regardless, the UGAHacks team has a precedent for pranking the current Lead Director, and now that I am no longer in that role, it’s time to get my just revenge. I look forward to Glen’s reaction when we surprise him in an even grander fashion. He won’t see it coming.
